China Telecom is the largest fixed-line and third-largest mobile operator in Mainland China.
In late October, local media reported that China Telecom was working with the country’s second-largest mobile operator, China Unicom, to create a new content delivery network joint venture. The JV would reportedly be run by China Unicom’s cloud computing unit.
In July, the two operators and China’s largest mobile player China Mobile agreed to jointly establish a tower company called China Communications Facilities Services.
