The CEO of TeliaSonera’s Norwegian unit NetCom, August Baumann, stepped down today after a decade in the role.
Charlotta Rehman, currently NetCom’s head of business development and wholesale, will serve as acting CEO until further notice.
She has worked for Sweden’s TeliaSonera group since 2006.
In July, Stockholm-based TeliaSonera agreed a SKr5.1bn (US$744m) deal to merge its Norwegian assets with that of fellow Swedish telco Tele2. However, the Norwegian Competition Authority (NCA) recently issued a statement of objections against the transaction, which would reduce the number of established mobile network operators in the country from three to two.
The companies have until 22 December to reply to the NCA’s objections. The regulator then has until 15 January to make its final decision.
