Japanese telco Softbank has promoted Katsumasa Niki to general manager of corporate strategy and development.
Niki joined the group in April as general manager of investment planning and replaces Eric Gan, who is taking up the post of EVP, board director at Softbank Mobile from 1 November.
The telco has been on a spending spree as it seeks to diversify its business.
It agreed earlier this week to pay US$627m to become the largest shareholder in Indian e-commerce company Snapdeal.
