The CEO of Deutsche Telekom-owned T-Mobile Polska, Miroslav Rakowski, is set to step down on 31 October after nearly four years in the role.
Rakowski told the supervisory board he is looking for new challenges outside the Deutsche Telekom group, the Polish mobile operator said in a statement.
Rakowski will remain with the company until the end of the year to help ensure a smooth transition process.
Zacaharias Piperidis, chief operating officer for the OTE Group in Greece which is also majority-owned by Deutsche Telekom, will step in as interim CEO on 1 November. He will combine the roles at the two companies until a permanent CEO is appointed at the Polish operator
Piperidis has been a member of the T-Mobile Polska supervisory board since December 2013. He is also on the supervisory boards of OTE subsidiaries’ Cosmote Greece, Germanos Greece, Cosmote Romania and AMC Albania.
In his more than 20 years in the telecoms sector, Piperidis has held senior posts with companies including Vodafone Greece, O2 Germany, OTE Investments, Romtelecom Romania and Wind Hellas.
