Polish telco Netia has announced that Pawel Szymanski will replace Jon Eastick as CFO on 1 September.
Szymanski and CEO Adam Sawicki, who joined the company at the start of June, will be the only two members on the slimmed-down management board.
However, the pair will work with an extended management team of up to eight directors. The team is currently working on a new strategic plan, expected to be approved by the supervisory board this quarter. Today, Netia head of strategy and corporate development, Andrzej Kondracki, said the company will pick either P4 (Play) or Polkomtel as its future mobile partner.
Szymanski will join Netia, Poland’s second-largest fixed-line operator, from local real estate company Marvipol, where he was VP and CFO.
Since starting his career with Schroders and Citigroup in London, Szymanski has also served as CEO of Bank Handlow’s brokerage arm, managing director and then VP of PKN Orlen’s finance division, and VP for financial affairs at CTL Logistics.
