A few months after being partly privatised, Omani incumbent Omantel has promoted CFO Talal Said Marhoon Al Mamari to the role of CEO.
He succeeds Amer Awadh Al Rawas, who has moved to the oil and gas sector, according to a statement.
The company could not be reached to comment on the replacement for Al Mamari in the CFO position.
The Omani state sold a 19% stake in Omantel for US$530m earlier this year via a private placement first, followed by a public offering.
Omantel operates fixed and mobile services in Oman. It also owns Worldcall Telecom, which provides wireless local loop, long distance international, payphone and cable television services in Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
