Mohammed bin Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Thani has become the new CEO of Kuwait’s Wataniya, a subsidiary of Qatari telco Ooredoo.
He succeeds Abdulaziz Ibrahim Fakhroo, who will move to a new position within Ooredoo and will serve as director of Wataniya.
Al Thani previously served as deputy chief officer, finance, at the Qatari operator.
Wataniya, which is currently being re-branded as Ooredoo Kuwait, is the second-largest operator in the country.
Last year, it sold its push-to-talk mobile service operations, Bravo, to Saudi Telecom which also operates in Kuwait as Viva.
