The Czech telecoms regulator has published a draft tender for remaining 4G mobile frequencies in the 1,800 MHz and 2,600 MHz bands, with the starting price for all blocks totalling Kc882m (US$43.6m).
The public consultation period runs for one and a half months, after which the Czech Telecommunications Office (CTU) will prepare the final wording of the tender, according to a statement from the regulator. The auction itself is expected to get underway in autumn.
CTU plans to offer four blocks in the 1,800 MHz band and two in the 2,600 MHz band, with licences to run for 15 years.
The Czech Republic raised Kc8.53bn (US$422.31m) from its 4G auction in November 2013, with the nation’s three mobile network operators – O2, controlled by investment firm PPF, and the local units of Vodafone and T-Mobile – all winning spectrum.
