MTS Belarus has named Vladimir Kondratyev as its new CFO.
Kondratyev has previously held senior finance positions with Comstar, VimpelCom and the Russian Telephone Company (RTC), according to a company statement.
Kondratyev’s appointment comes as the company embarks on changes to its organisational structure to better align it with the principles of Russian operator MTS, which has a 49% stake in the company.
The Belarusian government, which owns the remaining 51% of shares, has been trying to sell its stake for several years. This February, it rejected a US$400m-US$500m offer from MTS, describing it as too low. The original US$1bn asking price based on a 2010 market valuation was dropped to US$863m in December 2013. The government had called off an earlier sales process due to a lack of bids.
