Belgian cableco Telenet has promoted its vice president of corporate counsel and insurance, Dietar Nieuwdorp, to become its new head of strategy ahead of Vincent Bruyneel’s departure at the end of the month.
Bruyneel is leaving his role as Telenet’s senior VP of strategy, IR and corporate communications to join the strategy team at its parent company, Liberty Global, on 1 May.
Nieuwdorp will combine management of the strategy department with his current role as Telenet’s secretary of the board of directors, and will report directly to John Porter – the cableco’s CEO.
Commenting on Nieuwdorp’s appointment, Porter said: “He has been closely involved in all major decisions over the past years. This means he has extensive knowledge, which makes him the ideal candidate to fill this role.”
Bruyneel’s other responsibilities will be taken by other members of the senior leadership team. Birgit Conix will take over responsibility for investor relations and Ann Caluwaerts, in charge of corporate affairs and media, will manage the corporate communication department.
