Slovenia expects to sell its majority stake in Telekom Slovenije by the end of the year, according to economy minister Metod Dragonja.
The minister made the comment at a news conference.
The Slovenian government has hired Citigroup to act as its financial adviser for the sale.
The government decided to privatise the telco last year following pressure from other European Union member states to address its budget deficit. In June, MPs approved the proposed sale of the telco and 14 other state-owned companies. In September, state-owned shareholders in Telekom Slovenije announced that they had agreed to sell a combined stake of 75% in the telco.
Ljublanja-based Telekom Slovenije has a market cap of €865.95m, valuing a 75% stake at €649.5m.
The ministry was not immediately available for comment.
