Indian telco Bharti Airtel has made key changes to its leadership, including expanding the roles of the CEOs of its Indian, South Asian and African businesses.
Manoj Kohli, managing director and CEO of Bharti’s international operations, will step down from the position on 1 April. He will remain on the telco’s board as a non-executive director.
Gopal Vittal, managing director and CEO of Bharti’s Indian and South Asian business, will also take on responsibility for Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. His expanded role will be effective as of 1 April.
Meanwhile, Christian de Faria, managing director and CEO of the telco’s African business, will assume full operational control over its units in 17 African geographies.
The new appointments were approved at a board meeting today.
