Slovenia has kicked off its 4G spectrum auction with a deadline for bid applications closing on 17 February.
The country’s telecoms regulator, APEK, said spectrum in the 800 MHz, 900 MHz, 1,800 MHz, 2,100 MHz and 2,600 MHz bands will be made available
The radio frequency sale follows the publication in September of draft conditions for the tender process.
Licences will be technology neutral and last for 15 years, the regulator said at the time. The auction will be open to potential new market entrants as well as existing operators. The results are expected in March.
Mobile operators in Slovenia are incumbent Telekom Slovenije’s Mobitel, Telekom Austria’s Si.mobil, Tusmobil and Gratel’s T-2.
