Turk Telekom board member Rami Aslan has been appointed CEO in a new leadership shake-up aimed at making the company “more efficient”, it said in a statement.
As part of the changes, the company has combined the roles of Group CEO and general manager into a single CEO position and has removed the Group CFO position.
Aslan, who has served as CEO of parent company Oger Telecom, will also be appointed as a member of the Turk Telekom executive committee.
Meanwhile, Turk Telekom Group CEO Hakam Kanafani has been appointed as chief adviser to the chairman of the incumbent.
Tahsin Yılmaz, who served as general manager, will become an adviser to the chairman of Oger Telecom while Mustafa Uysal, former Group CFO, has been appointed as an adviser to Turk Telekom CEO.
Chairman Mohammed Hariri said the new leadership structure will enable the Turkish telco “to dig deeper in efficiencies and realise a significant upside”.
