Croatia’s T-Hrvatski Telekom (T-HT) has appointed tobacco company head Davor Tomaskovic to replace Ivica Mudrinic as CEO.
The telco, part of the Deutsche Telekom (DT) group, announced Tomaskovic will take on CEO duties from 1 January 2014 for a four-year term.
Outgoing CEO Mudrinic is moving to DT’s Bonn headquarters, where he will become senior vice president for strategic support to the telco’s European operations. He will also be on DT’s management and technology boards.
T-HT supervisory board president Mark Klein thanked Mudrinic for his work during his 15 years at the helm of the company, during which it transitioned from a state-owned monopoly to a joint stock corporation majority owned by DT.
Commenting on his new role, Tomaskovic acknowledged the challenges ahead as the company strives to make “rapid adjustments” to adapt to significant industry changes.
Tomaskovic first joined T-HT in 2002 as director of corporate strategy and business development. He worked as CEO of Croatian distribution and retailing company Tisak, before assuming his current role as head of tobacco company TDR.
