Batelco has elevated Faisal Qamhiyah, the CFO of Batelco Bahrain, to group CFO following Marco Regnier’s discreet departure from the role during the summer.
The Bahraini incumbent’s group financial controller Sameer Altaf has taken over Qamhiyah’s position at Batelco Bahrain.
Qamhiyah was in his previous role since January, which followed on from a spell as CFO of Batelco Jordan. Meanwhile Altaf has been with Batelco since 2008 and held various different financial roles with the telco.
Regnier left the operator following the departure of CEO Mohamed bin Isa Al Khalifa in May. In its Q3 announcement yesterday Batelco said the search for a new CEO was still going on.
The three-man supervisory committee of the board of directors have assumed the responsibilities of the CEO while a replacement is sought.
