Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company (Du), the UAE’s second largest mobile operator, has named Amer Kazim as its new CFO.
He will join the company in December 2013, replacing Mark Shuttleworth who will step down after eight years in the role.
Shuttleworth is leaving to “pursue other business opportunities” but will remain with Du until the end of Q1 2014 “to ensure a smooth handover of responsibilities and to supervise the full year 2013 financial results”, the operator said in a statement.
Kazim previously worked as SVP group services for Dubai Airport, group CFO for investment firm Meraas Holding, as well as SVP finance for Emirates Airline.
“He is experienced in corporate services, treasury, budgeting and investment administration, corporate finance and strategic capabilities optimisation, making him the ideal choice for this high level strategic position in Du,” according to the statement.
