The CEO of Vodafone Malta, Balesh Sharma, is set to leave his current role to become the head of Vodafone Czech Republic from 1 November.
Sharma joined the British operator in 2003 and held several positions, including CEO of the Gujarat region in India in 2008, before taking the reins in Malta in 2011.
In Czech Republic, he will replace Muriel Anton, who has been in the role since 2008. The reasons for her departure are not known but Anton will stay until the end of the year to support Sharma in his new role, Vodafone CR said.
Sharma will be replaced in Malta by Amanda Nielson. She started at Vodafone in 1998 and in 2009 became CFO of Vodafone Netherlands. She held other senior finance positions in New Zealand, Japan and the UK.
