FirstLight expands in eastern US with Finger Lakes acquisition as competition mounts

US-based FirstLight Fiber has acquired data, internet and voice operator Finger Lakes Technologies Group from Trumansburg Telephone Company for an undisclosed sum to boost its fibre footprint in the country’s northeast. The transaction will grant FirstLight 2,500 miles of fibre optic network in the states of New York and Pennsylvania. Once the deal closes, the fibre operator’s network will span 12,000 route miles across six US states and parts of Canada.

Oak Hill consolidation plans on track with FirstLight Fiber-Oxford Networks merger

Oak Hill Capital Partners has completed its acquisition of Oxford Networks and combined it with another recently acquired fibre operator in the north-eastern US, FirstLight Fiber, more than doubling the size of its business. Oak Hill partners Scott Baker and Benjy Diesbach said the deal“represents an exciting next step in our plan to create the leading fibre provider" in the region.
